How Age Difference is Calculated
Calculating the difference between two dates accurately requires more than simple subtraction. Our calculator uses a calendar-aware algorithm that correctly handles varying month lengths, leap years, and the exact number of remaining days within an incomplete month.
The primary result gives you the difference expressed in complete years, remaining months, and remaining days — the same way you would describe the age of a person. The total breakdown then converts the full span into total days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds for a complete picture.
The optional Include end date toggle adds one extra day to the total, which is useful when you want to count both the start and end dates as full days (for example, when calculating the duration of an event or a stay).
